RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas (the "Council' on
November 8, 2012 via Resolution No. 2012-R0417 adopted the Downtown Public Improvements
Design Standards (the "Standards") addressing the requirements for public rights -of -way in
Downtown Lubbock; and
WHEREAS, the Council on June 11, 2015 via Resolution No. 2015-R0201 adopted an
amended version of the Standards; and
WHEREAS, the Council on February 22, 2018 via Resolution No. 2018-R0089 adopted
another amended version of the Standards; and
WHEREAS, the Council commissioned Kendig Keast Collaborative for professional
services for the creation of a Unified Development Code (UDC) for the City of Lubbock in May
of 2019, which UDC will address any and all design regulations for the City of Lubbock,
including Downtown Lubbock with the assistance of stakeholders and community members; and
WHEREAS, as the UDC is approaching completion, the Council finds the Standards no
longer necessary, and further recommend their repeal; and
WHEREAS, the Council find it in the interest of the public health, safety, and welfare of
the citizens of the City of Lubbock, to repeal the Standards.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT Lubbock City Council Resolution No. 2012-R0417 of November 8, 2012, as
amended by Lubbock City Council Resolution No. 2015-R0201 of June 11, 2015, as amended
by Lubbock City Council Resolution No. 2018-R0089 of February 22, 2018, and the Downtown
Public Improvements Design Standards set forth therein, are hereby repealed and of no further
force and effect.
