HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 030967A - Recognize Title VI CRA & HUD Anti-Discrimination Policies, Coronado UR Project - 03/09/1967FOSE W RESOLUTION In41.'1A WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock recognizes that Title VIS of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the regulations and policies of the Department of Housing and Urban Development effectuating the Title prohibit discrim- ination on the ground of race, color, or national origin in the policies and practices of any public facility, educational institution, or hospital respon- sible for proposed credit''to the Coronado Urban Renewal Project and itis share of the cost of such urban renewal project receiving financial assist- ance from the United States, and WHEREAS, in recognition thereof; NOW THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT, the City of Lubbock hereby assures the United States and the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development that the facilities in. Mae Simmons Park, the Dr. J. A. Chatman Park (formerly called the proposed neighborhood park at E. 28th and Juniper), Improvements and Enlargement of Booker T. Washington Park, and the Planting Screen on Ash Avenue will be available to and serve all persons without regard to race, color, or national origin.
