HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 122271B - Policy For Maintaining Water Qualilty - Canyon Lakes Project - 12/22/1971KJ1ll RESOLUTION /2227/ WHEREAS,. the City of Lubbock has determined to build a series of Lakes in Yellowhouse Canyon locally called the Canyon Lakes Project; and, WHEREAS, May 13, 1971, the City Council established development pol- icies for the Canyon Lakes Project; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to emphasize and expand the intent of sections in the development policies pertaining to Water Quality and the following should be considered as a part thereof of the May 13, 1971, Development Policy Resolution and the City has employed engineering firms and staff to determine th feasibility of providing adequate water for secondary contact recreation and it has been determined that adequate water could be provided on the condition that ap- propriate control of the water sources are maintained throughout the life of the project; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock establishes this stated pol- icy for maintaining the water quality for the project and it shall be the policy of the City of Lubbock to provide the quality of water necessary for secondary con- tact water recreation in the Canyon Lakes Project t.nd the City Council will fol- lowup with necessary action, throughout the life of the project to insure this standard.
