HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 110972G - Land Acquisition - Right Of Way Dept. - Roberts & Mcwhorter Addition - 11/09/1972MR:kr RESOLUTION iio97z 4' WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council upon information the Traffic Engineer that the increased traffic along a portion of Fourth Street within the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, necessitates the widening and improving of Fourth Street; and, WHEREAS, it is necessary to acquire for street and highway right»ofww purposes the fee simple title to the land hereinafter described, owned by Kent R. Hance; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has caused an appraisal to be made of said land and the value and total damages, if any, to the owners, and all others, whose interest may appear, for fee simple title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $2, 925. 00, and the Council finds such'amount to be fair and equitable; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City of Lubbock acquire for the purposes of widening and im- proving the public street known and described as Fourth Street, the fee simple title to the land lying and being situated in Lubbock County, Texas, and more par- ticularly described as follows, to -wit: BEING 829. 38 Sq. Ft. out of Lot 21, Block 2, Paul M. Crouch Subdivision of Blocks 15 and 16, Roberts & McWhorter Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to a plat of said Addition recorded in Volume 98, Page 542, of Plat Records of Lubbock County; and being a part of the same property described in a Deed from Flagg Realtor, Inc., to Kent R. Hance, dated April 28, 1972, recorded in Volume 1301, Page 108, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas; said 829.38 Sq. Ft. of land bEing more particularly des- cribed bymetes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point 127. 5 feet South of the northwest corner of Lot 21, Block 2, Paul M. Crouch Subdivision of Blocks 15 and 16, of the Roberts & McWhorter Addi« tion,said point being in the north line of U.S. Highway 82 (4th Street); THENCE North along the west line of Lot 21, a distance of 17.2 feet to a point in the proposed north line of U.S. Highway 82; MR ; kr THENCE N 890 591 East along the proposed north right- of-way line of U. S. Highway 82 a distance of 48. 22 feet to a point in the east line of Lot 21; THENCE South along said line a distance of 17. 2 feet to a point in the existing north line of U. S. Highway 82; THENCE South 890 59= West along said line a distance of 48.22 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. THAT owner, Kent R.
