HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 070876O - Real Estate Acquisition - Right Of Way Dept - Quirt Avenue - 07/08/1976:lb RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock, Texas, a Home Rule Municipality lo- ated in Lubbock County, Texas, has determined and does hereby determine .-ie public needs, safety, and welfare demands and creates a public necessity :)r the widening, constructing, reconstructing and expansion and improvemen f Quirt Avenue in said City in order to provide better access to the municipa: irport of said City creating a need for additional right-of-way by said City to ccomplish such purposes, and this City Council of said City finds it to the est public interest and for public purposes and municipal purposes to proceei ,ith the acquisition of lands as needed for such purposes as aforesaid; NOW 'HEREFORE: IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the fee simple title to the following described real state located in Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired for public purposes and iunicipal purposes as set forth in the preamble hereof, to -wit: A parcel of land containing 0. 184 acre of land, more or less, out of a 1.00 acre tract in the South half of the Southwest one-quarter of Sec- tion 8, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas. Said 1. 00 acre tract was conveyed to Mary Jo Payne by Joel A. Austin and wife, Sonja, by Deed dated November 28, 1969 and recorded in Volume 1220, Page 206, Deed Records, Lubbock County, Texas. Said 0. 184 acre tract is more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the West Boundary Line of Section 8, Block A, which is also the Northwest Corner of said 1. 00 acre tract, said point bears South 880 4' 29" East, a distance of 5,280.00 feet, thence South 10 54' 42" West, a distance of 5, 207. 10 feet from the Southwest Corner of Section 10, Block A; THENCE South 881 5' 18" East along the North Pro- perty Line of said 1. 00 acre tract, a distance of 80. 00 feet to a point; THENCE South 1* 54' 42" West, a distance of 100.04 feet to a point in the South Property Line of said 1. 00 acre tract, also the South Boundary Line of Section 8, Block A; JWF:lb THENCE North 88° 3' 14" West, along the South Boundary Line of Section 8, Block A, a distance of 80. 00 feet to a point in the Southwest Corner of Section 8, Block A; THENCE North 10 54' 42" East along the West Boundary Line of Section 8, Block A, a distance of 100. 00 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, containing 0. 184 acre of which approximately 0. 064 acre is in an existing road.
