HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 072276I - Street Improvements - WD Turner Construction - Multiple Locations - 07/22/1976RESOLUTION RESOLUTION ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS ON PORTIONS OF ALLEYS, STREETS, AND/OR AVENUES AS LISTED BELOW AND ORDERING THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES IN EVIDENCE OF ASSESSMENTS LEVIED. WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock heretofore passed various street improvement ordinances and resolutions and entered into contract with W.D. Turner Construction Company (G.W.O. 3140) for the making and construction of street and/or alley improvements on portions of numerous alleys, streets and/or avenues in said City including among others the following: 59th Street from its intersection with a line 18.0 feet West of the West Property Line of Wayne Avenue to its intersection with a line 18.0 feet East of the East Property Line of Vicksburg Avenue, known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 57 of Unit Number 2229. Vicksburg Avenue from its intersection with a line 17.0 feet South of the South Property Line of 58th Street to its intersection with a line 18.0 feet North of the North Property Line of 59th Street, known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 58 of Unit Number 2229. Lehigh Street from its intersection with the East Lip Line of Utica Avenue to its intersection with a line 10.0 feet West of the East Property Line of Quinton Avenue known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 59 of Unit Number 2229. Grinnell Street from its intersection with the East Lip Line of Utica Avenue toits intersection with the West Lip Line of Salem Avenue known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 62 of Unit Number 2229. Fordham Street from its intersection with the East Lip Line of Utica Avenue to its intersection with theWest Lip Line of Salem Avenue known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 63 of Unit Number 2229. Quinton Avenue from its intersection with a line 15.0 feet North of the North Property Line of Lehigh Street to its intersection with the South Lip Line of Marshall Street known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 64 of Unit Number 2229. Salem Avenue from its intersection with a line 9.93 feet North of the North Property Line of Kemper Street (East Leg) to its intersection with the South Lip Line of Lehigh Street known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 67 of Unit Number 2229. Salem avenue from its intersection with a line 15.0 feet South of the South Property Line of Harvard Street to its intersection with the North Raw Edge of Erskine Street known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 68 of Unit Number 2229. Toledo Avenue from its intersection with the North Lip Line of Lehigh Street to its intersection with a line 7.0 feet North of the North Property Line of the Alley North of Marshall Street known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 69 of unit Number 2229. 55th Street from its intersection with a line 13.0 feet East of the East Property Line of Slide Road to its intersection with a line 15.0 feet West of the West Property Line of York Avenue known and designated as Sub -Unit 70 of Unit Number 2229. Paige 2 56Th Street from its intersection with a line 13.O feet East of the East Property Line of Slide Road to its intersection with a line 15.0 feet West of the West Property Line of York Avenue known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 71 of Unit Number 2229. York Avenue from its intersection with a line 15.0 feet South of the South Property Line of 54th Street to its intersection with a line 15.0 North of the North Property Line of 57th Street known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 72 of Unit Number 2229. East half of Utica Avenue from its intersection with a line 15.0 feet North of North Property Line of Kemper Street to its intersection with a line 7.0 feet North of the North Property Line of alley North of Marshall Street known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 8 of Unit Number 2230. East half of Utica Avenue from its intersection with a line 15.0 feet South of the South Property Line of Harvard Street to its intersection with the North Raw Edge of Erskine Street known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 9 of Unit Number 2230. Marshall Street from itsintersection with the East Lip Line of Utica Avenue to its intersection with the West Raw Edge of. Quaker Avneue known and designated as Sub -Unit Number 11 of Unit Number 2230. North one-half of 67th Street from its intersection with a line 13.0 feet East of the East Property Line of Toledo Avenue to its intersection with a line 10.5 feet West of the West Property Line of Salem Avenue, known and designated as Sub -Unit 12 of Unit Number 2230. AND WEREAS, the improvements upon the said portions of the abovementioned alleys, streets and/or avenues, have been inspected and found to have been constructed in accordance with terms of said contract (G.W.O. 3140). THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVE BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: I. That the improvements on said portions of the abovementioned alleys, streets, and/or avenues be and the same are hereby accepted, and the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized to direct payment of the City's portion of the cost. II. That the Mayor and City Secretary be, and they are hereby instructed to execute and deliver certificates in evidence of the assessments levied against the parcels of property abutting upon the said portions of the alleys, streets and/or avenues listed above and against the owners of such property in accordance with law and in the manner provided in said contract, and the proceedings with reference to said improvements and assessments where such assessments were levied. i This resolution shall tkae effect and be in force from and after its passage.
