HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 082478B - System Of Intent To Change Rates- Pioneernaturalgasco- Westtx Distribution Syste - 08/24/1978DGV/cl 0 O a77 8 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on August 10, 1978, the Pioneer Natural Gas Company filed with the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock, a Statement of Intent to change rates within cities and towns on its West Texas Distribution System, which includes Lubbock, proposing an effective date of September 15, 1978, for rate increases which are a major change in rates; and WHEREAS, representatives of a number of cities and towns listed in the statement of intent have met, appointed a steering committee and have made recom- mendations to governing bodies of cities and towns affected to ban together for the purpose of engaging such expert consultants, attorneys, accountants, engi- neers, etc., as needed to make audits, inspections, examinations, etc., as necessary to evaluate proposed rate increases and make such recommendations as may be appropriate to governing bodies of cities and towns affected; and WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the public interest that such actions be taken to insure that rates are fair and reasonable; NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED: That the period prescribed by Section 43(c), Public Utility Regulatory Act of 1975, to hold a hearing to determine the propriety of proposed rate changes and the proposed date of September 15, 1978, on which the rates would otherwise go into effect is hereby suspended for a period not to exceed 120 days beyond September 15, 1978, as provided by Section 43(d) Public Utility Regulatory Act of 1975.
