HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 036 - 30 Day Extension To WTDS Rate Changes To Hold Public Hearing Per PURA - 01/11/1979RESO - 36 1/11/79 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on August 10, 1978, the Pioneer Natural Gas Company filed with the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock a Statement of Intent to change rates within the cities and towns composing its West Texas Distribution System, which includes Lubbock, proposing an effective date of September 15, 1978, for rate increases which are a major change in rates; and WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock has by Resolution suspended the proposed effective date for 120 days in order to prepare a hearing to determine the propriety of such proposed rate changes in accordance with Section 43 (c) of the Public Utilities Regulatory Act of 1975; and WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock now finds that additional time will be required to enable expert consultants which have been retained by the City of Lubbock and other cities and towns on the West Texas Distribution System to properly prepare for such hearing; and WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the public interest that such actions be taken to insure that such rates are fair and reasonable; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the period prescribed by Section 43 (d) of the Public Utility Regulatory Act of 1975 to _hold a hearing to determine the propriety of proposed rate changes and the proposed date of September 15, 1978, which date has previously been suspended for 120 days, be and is hereby suspended for an additional 30 days beyond 120 days from September 15, 1978, as provided by Section 43 (d) of the Public Utility Regulatory Act of 1975 and the City Secretary is hereby required to notify Pioneer Natural Gas Company of this further suspension of 30 days.
