BE IT REMEMBERED THAT on the 14th day of August, 1980, the City Council of the City of Lubbock met at 9:30 o'clock A M. in special session at the regular meeting place of the City Council in the City Hall of the City of Lubbock with the following members present, to -wit: Mayor Bill McAlister Councilman M. J. Aderton Mayor Pro Tem Alan Henry Councilwoman Joan Baker Councilman E. Jack Brown On motion of Mayor Pro Tem Alan Henry , seconded by Councilwoman Joan Baker , it is unanimously carried that the returns of the Bond Election held August 9, 1980, for the authorization to issue $21,000,000 general obligation bonds for public improvements, to -wit: constructing improvements and extensions to the City's waterworks system, be opened and canvassed, and the results thereof declared therefrom; and said returns having been duly canvassed, it is found that the vote on the issue was as follows: "THE ISSUANCE OF $21,000,000 WATERWORKS IMPROVEMENT BONDS AND THE LEVYING OF THE TAX IN PAYMENT P THEREOF": THEREO VOTES FOR: 5,011 VOTES AGAINST: 437 And it further appearing that said election was duly held as provided by law and that a majority of votes cast were in favor of the issue; and therefore said issue was passed by the qualified voters of the City of Lubbock; IT IS THEREFORE FOUND, DECLARED AND CERTIFIED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT "THE ISSUANCE OF $21,000,000 WATERWORKS IMPROVEMENT BONDS AND THE LEVYING OF THE TAX IN PAYMENT THEREOF" was duly approved by the qualified voters of the City of Lubbock in the Bond Election held August 9, 1980. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED ON MOTION OF Mayot Pro Tem Henry , SECONDED BY Councilwoman Baker , THIS 14TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1980, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: COUNCILMEN VOTING "AYE": Mayor Bill McAlister, Mayor Pro Tem Alan Henry, Councilman E.
