HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 544 - Right Of Way Offer - Becknell Trust - Airport Purposes, 2 Tracts Sec 65 Block A - 06/26/1980ti X21 2 6 1980 JT,,t/Pg RESOLUTION RESOLUTION #544 - 6/26/80 Whereas, the City Council of the City of Lubbock finds it necessary and in the public interest to purchase certain hereinafter described property for municipal public purposes to -wit: municipal airport pur- poses as to Tract 1 described below and ingress and egress easement for access-to.said Tract .l, said easement .being located in, upon, along, over, and across Tract 2 described below; and, Whereas, the City Council hereby determines that the owners of the fee simple title to said property should be offered the amount herein- after set forth for the purchase thereof by the City, NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: Section 1. That the acquisition of the fee simple title to the following described land is hereby authorized: TRACT 1 A tract of land out of Section 65, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas, being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a 3/8" iron rod, set in the West R.O.W. line of the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad, for the Northeast and beginning corner of this tract, whence a found railroad spike the Northeast corner of Section 65, Block A bears North, 973.92 feet and East, 2364.17 feet; THENCE North 890 56' 05" West at 44.62 feet pass a 3/8" iron rod, continuing for a total distance of 179.42 feet to a 3/8" iron rod, set for the Northwest corner of this tract; THENCE South at 60.0 feet pass the centerline of the East-West runway of Lubbock International Airport Extended East, continuing for a total distance of 120.0 feet to a 3/8" iron rod, set for the South- west corner of this tract; THENCE South 89° 56' 05" East, 120.0 feet to a 3/8" iron rod, set in the West R.O.W. line of the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad, for the Southeast corner of this tract; THENCE North 26° 21' 00" East along the West R.O.W. line of the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad, at 66.9 feet pass a 3/8" iron rod the centerline of the East-West runway of the Lubbock International Airport Extended East, continuing for a total distance of 133.8 feet to the place of beginning. That an easement of ingress and egress to said Tract 1 be acquired lo- cated on Tract 2 described as follows: TRACT 2 BEGINNING at a found 3/8" iron rod in the West R.O.W. line of the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad, for the Northeast and beginning corner of this tract, whence a found railroad spike the Northeast corner of Section 65, Block A Lubbock County, Texas, bears East 1881.77 feet; a r-- V k THENCE South 26° 21' 00" West along the West R.O.W. line of the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad, 1086.85 feet to a 3/8" iron rod, set for the Southeast corner of this tract; THENCE North 89° 56' 05" West, 44.62 feet to a 3/8" iron rod, set for the Southwest corner of this tract; E THENCE North 260 21' 00" East, 1086.79 feet to a 3/8" iron rod, set for the Northwest corner of this tract; THENCE East along the North line of said Section 65, Block A, i 44.64 feet to the place of beginning. Section 2. That the owners of said fee simple title including the Becknell Trust be offered the sum of $4,000.00 for the purchase of inter- ests in said land as above described. i Passed by the City Council this 26th day of June 1980.
