WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the changes in the votin precincts as shown below would be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Section 10-6 of the Code of ordinances, City of Lub- bock, Texas. BE .and is hereby amended so that the voting precincts indicated shall hereafter read as follows: Voting Precinct No. 2. Beginning at the intersection of Regis Street with No;dh Avenue Q; thence South along North Avenue Q to its intersection with Erskine Street; thence East along Erskine Street to its intersection with the East City Limits, which is 150 feet East of Olive Street; thence North along the Fasit3 City Limits to a point 150 feet North or Ursuline Street which is the North City Limits; thence West along the North City Limits to the East aty Limits which is 150 feet East of Guava Avenue; thence South to Ursuline Street; thence West to Quirt Avenue; thence North along Quirt Avenue to its intersection with Regis Street; thence West along Regis Street to the Point of Beginning. The voting place shall be Sam Arnett School. Voting Precinct No. 4. Beginning at the point of the inter- section of University Avenue with the North City Limits; thence South along University Avenue to its intersection with 4th 9reet; thence East along 4th Street to its intersection with Avenue Q; thence North along Avenue Q to the North City Limits; thence West along the North City Limits line to the Point of Beginning. The Voting Place shall be A. C. Jackson School. Voting Precinct No. 7. Beginning at the intersection oi Frankford Avenue with Brownfield Road; thence Northeast along Brownfield Road to its intersection with Slide Road; thence North along Slide Road to its intersection with 19th Street; thence West along 19th Street to its intersection with Chicago Avenue; thence South along Chicago Avenue to its intersection with 26th Street; thence West along 26th Street to its intersection with Frankford Avenue; thence South along Frankford Avenue to the Point of Beginning. The Voting Place shall be James Bowie School. .· (: Voting Precinct No. 12. Beginning at the intersection of Memphis Avenue and 50th Street; thence East on 50th Street to its intersection with Indiana Avenue; thence South on Indiana Avenue to its intersection with 62nd Street; thence West along 62nd Street and continuing as it becomes 62nd Drive to its inter- section with 63rd Drive; thence South along 63rd Drive to its intersection with 67th Street; thence West along 67th Street to its intersection with 64th Drive; thence North along 64th Drive to its intersection with 66th Street; thence West along 66th Street to its intersection with Peoria Avenue; thence Northwest along Peoria Avenue and continuing as it becomes 64th Street to its intersection with Quaker Avenue; thence North along Quaker Avenre to its intersection with 58th Street; thence East along 58th Street to its intersection with Memphis Avenue; thence North along Memphis Avenue to the Point of Beginning. The Voting Place shall be Haynes School. Voting Precinct No. 27. Beginning at the intersection of Brown- field Road and Slide Road; thence South along Slide Road to 46th Street; thence East along 46th Street to its intersection with Vicks- burg Avenue; thence South along Vicksburg Avenue to its inter- section with 48th Street; thence East along 48th Street to its inter- section with Utica Avenue; thence South along Utica Avenue to its intersection with Loop 289; thence Southeast along Loop 289 to its intersection with Quaker Avenue; thence South along Quaker Avenue to its intersection with 82nd Street; thence West along 82nd Street to its intersection with Slide Road; thence South along Slide Road to the South City Limits; thence West along the South City Limits line to the West City Limits; thence North along the West City Limits line to the South City Limits; thence West along the South City Limits line to a point 150 feet West of Frankford Avenue; thenc North to a point 150 feet South of 82nd Street; thence West to the intersection of the West City Limits; thence North along the West City Limits to the Brownfield Road; thence along the Brownfield Road to the Point of Beginning. The Voting Place shall be the Slide Road Precinct Clubhouse. Voting Precinct No. 47. Beginning at the intersection of North City Limits and Slide Road; thence South along Slide Road to its inter- section with 19th Street; thence West along 19th Street to the West City Limits; thence North along the West City Limits@ the North City Limits which is 660 feet North of Erskine Street; thence East along the North City Limits to the West City Limits., which is 150 feet West of Frankford Street; thence North along the West City Limits to the North City Limits, which is 150 feet North of Ursuline Street; thence East along the North City Limits to the Point of Be- ginning. The Voting Place shall be Mackenzie School. Voting Precinct No. 48. Beginning at the intersection of 66th Street and University Avenue; thence South along University A venue to 82nd Street; thence West along 82nd Street to its intersection with Quaker Avenue; thence North along Quaker Avenue to its intersection with 66th Street; thence East across Leroy Elmore Park, continuing along 66th Street to its inter- section with 64th Drive; thence South along 64th Drive to 67th Street; thence East on 67th Street to 63rd Drive; thence North on 63rd Drive to 62nd Drive and continuing along 62nd Street to its intersection with Indiana Avenue; thence South along Indiana Avenue to its intersection with 66th Street; thence East along 66th Street to the Point of Beginning. The Voting Place shall be Murfee School. SECTION 2. THAT Section 10-6 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Lub- bock, Texas, BE and. is hereby amended by adding thereto new voting precincts described as follows: t Voting Precinct No. 30. Beginning at the intersection of 46th Street and Quaker Avenue; thence South along Quaker Avenue to its intersection with 50th Street; thence East along 50th Street to its intersection with Memphis Avenue; thence South along Memphis Avenue to its intersection with 58th Street; thence West along 58th Street to its intersection with Quaker Avenue; thence South along Quaker Avenue to its intersection with Loop 289; thence Northwest along Loop 289 to its intersection with Utica Avenue; thence North along Utica Avenue to its inter- section with 48th Street: thence West along 48th Street to its intersection with Vicksburg Avenue; thence North along Vicks- burg Avenue to its intersection with 46th Street; thence East along 46th Street to the Point of Beginning. The Voting Place shall be Stewart School. Voting Precinct No. 52. Beginning at the intersection of University Avenue and 82nd Street; thence East along 82nd Street a distance of 660 feet; thence South along the City Limits line to the South City Limits which is 660 feet Soutfl_\ of 98th Street; thence West along the South City Limits line to the West City Limits; thence North along the West City Limits line to the South City Limits; thence West along the South City Limits line to Slide Road; thence North along Slide Road to its inter- section with 82nd Street; thence East along 82nd Street to the Point of Beginning. The Voting Place shall be designated in the Election Order. Voting Precinct No. 53. Beginning at the intersectioo of 19th Street and Chicago Avenue; thence South along Chicago Avenue to its intersection with 26th Street; thence West along 26th Street to its intersection with Frankford Avenue; thence South along Frankford Avenue to its intersection with the Brownfield Highway; thence Southwest along the Brownfield Highway to the J ) West City Limits; thence North along the West City Limits line to its intersection with the South City Limits which is 150 feet South of 26th Street; thence West along the South City Limits line to the West City I.itni ts; thence North along the West City Limits line to the North City Limits which is 660 feet North of 19th Street; thence East along the North City Limits line to the West City Limits; thence South along the West City Limits to 19th Street; thence East along 19th Street to the Point of Beginning. The Voting Place shall be Lubbock Christian Coll~ge. Voting Precinct No. 54. Beginning at the intersection of Regis Street and North Avenue Q; thence East along Regis Street to its intersection with Quirt Avenue; thence South abng Quirt Avenue to a point 150 feet East of its intersection with 01;1-ava Avenue thence North along the East City Limits line to the North City Limits; thence West along the North City Limits line to the East City Limits: thence North along the City Limits adjacent to North Avenue P to the North City Limits; thence West abng the North City Limits to the West City Limits; thence South along the West City Limits line to Regis Street and continue South along North Avenue Q to the Point of Beginning. The Voting Place shall be designated in the Election Order. Voting precincts (1) through (30) inclusive and voting precincts (47), (48), (49), (50). (51), (52), (53) and (54) are hereby delin- eated on the map denominated 11City of Lubbock Voting Precincts, Revised February, 197411 • A copy of said map is hereby attached to and made a part hereof as though fully copied in detail. An original copy of said map shall be kept in the office of the City Secretary and shall be open to public inspection, and at each speci and general city election, a true copy of said map shall be furnishe by the City Secretary to each of the presiding judges of each voting precinct in said election. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause pub- lication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method pro- vided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
