Logan was a major contributor of his time and talents to the community and was an unselfish advocate for the betterment of Lubbock and the entire Llano Estacado; and WHEREAS, his tireless efforts to help Lubbock grow and prosper included thirty years of service as President and General Manager of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, as one of Lubbock's greatest community leaders; and WHEREAS, John Logan was instrumental in gaining approval of Interstate 27, securing the Texas Tech University Medical School, and the Lubbock State School, to name only a few of his many accomplishments for Lubbock; and WHEREAS, John Logan was an individual whose work has left a lasting legacy of service to Lubbock that will be felt and will benefit future generations for many years to come; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT this City Council recognizes the tremendous contributions made to this community by Mr. Logan and mourja-t TeTmisi4g of a beloved community leader and friend.
