RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Section 38.01.005(a)(17) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Lubbock (Subdivision Regulations) requires City Council approval of a street design
which will include an island within the street; and
WHEREAS, the Owner/Developer of the Valencia Addition has requested that the
City Council approve a street design that will include islands in streets within the
boundaries of this development, namely the streets between Iola Avenue and Milwaukee
Avenue, and between 86`h Street and 87th Street; and
WHEREAS, said islands are to remain under private ownership and will be
owned and maintained as open space area by a Public Improvement District; NOW
THEREFORE:
'BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves the inclusion of
islands in the streets within the boundaries of Valencia Addition, namely the streets
between Iola Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue and between 86th Street and 87`h Street to
be owned and maintained by the Valencia Public Improvement District in accordance
with the request of Drew Wegman, which request is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
made a part hereof for all intents and purposes.
THAT, as a condition of approval, if any, of subsequent islands in the streets
located within the Valencia Development, the Developer shall be required to present to
the City Engineer the design and construction of a street pavement structure adjacent to
such islands that exceeds the minimum standard specifications for street paving, and that
design and construction proposal must be approved by the City Engineer.
