HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2019-R0376 - Increase Terms For EUB Members And Remove Duty Of Recommendation To WTMPA - 10/15/2019 Resolution No. 2019-RO376 Item No. 3.6.1 October 15,2019 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 2.03, Division lof the Lubbock Code of Ordinances, the Electric Utility Board of the City of Lubbock (the "EUB") voted on October 15, 2019 to recommend that the City Council of the City of Lubbock (the "City Council") should amend the Lubbock Code of Ordinances to increase the number of terms that may be served by the EUB members and to remove the duty to recommend individuals to the board of the West Texas Municipal Power Agency(then"Proposed Ordinance Amendments");and; and WHEREAS, the City Council accepts the recommendations of the EUB in regards to the Proposed Ordinance Amendments; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Article 2.03, Division 12, certain procedural requirements, in including publication must be conducted prior to the passage of the Proposed Ordinance Amendments; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest for the City and its citizen volunteers to adopt a policy for the boards, commissions, and committees, and restructure the expiration dates of the terms for the boards and commissions; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TME CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City Council does hereby accept the recommendation of the EUB regarding the Proposed Ordinance Amendn-ionts, which said EUB Agreement is attached hereto and incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth herein and shall be included in the minutes of the City Council; and THAT the City Council does hereby authorize and direct city staff to take all actions required by Article 2.03, Division 12 to effectuate the Proposed Ordinance Amendments.
