RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized
and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Quit
Claim Deed in favor of Southwestern Newspaper Corporation dba Avalanche
Journal, a Delaware Corporation, attached herewith which shall be spread
upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council
shall constitute and be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein
in detail.
Passed by the City Council this 12th day of December , 1979.

QUITCLAIM DEED
THE STATE OF TEXAS §
COUNTY OF LUBBOCK §
THAT the CITY OF LUBBOCK, a Home Rule Municipality in the County of
Lubbock, State of Texas, for and in consideration of the sum of ONE AND
N0/100 ($1.00) DOLLARS and other good and valuable consideration to it in hand
paid by Southwestern Newspapers Corporation dba Avalanche Journal, a Delaware
Corporation hereinafter called "GRANTEE", the receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged, does hereby by these presents ABANDON, DISCLAIM, RELEASE AND
FOREVER QUIT CLAIM unto the said GRANTEE, all its right title and interest in
and to that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the
County of Lubbock, State of Texas, described as follows, to -wit:
All of the utility easement, except the South 60 feet thereof,
described as that utility granted by the Avalanche -Journal Publishing
Company unto the City of Lubbock, Texas dated October 3, 1956, and
filed for record October 30, 1956 at Volume 636, Page 680-681 (inclusive)
of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, said easement being
incorporated herein by reference as if fully copied herein by reference
in this place for a more particular description thereof. The said
South 60 feet of said easement is hereby retained by the City of
Lubbock for itself, the public, and public utilities franchised by
the City of Lubbock.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same premises together with all and singular
the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereto in any manner belonging unto
the said GRANTEE, its successors and assigns forever, so that neither the
GRANTOR, City of Lubbock, its successors or assigns, nor any persons claiming
under it shall at any time hereinafter, have, claim or demand any right to
the title to the aforesaid premises or appurtenances or any part thereof.
