HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2019-R0150 - Amendment To Lubbock East Neighborhood Empowerment Zone - 04_23_2019Resolution No. 2019-RO 150 Item No. 7.17 April 23, 2019 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on November 1, 2018 the City Council of the City of Lubbock (the "Council") created the Lubbock East Neighborhood Empowerment Zone (the "Zone"), within which the Market Lubbock, Inc. East Side Grant Program is to be implemented, through Resolution No. 2018-R0395; WHEREAS, the Council now desires to amend the boundaries of the Zone, in order to adjust the placement of the boundary line along the southern border of the Zone; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1: THAT the area depicted and described in the attached "Exhibit A" is hereby designated as the Lubbock East Neighborhood Empowerment Zone as amended. SECTION 2: THAT the City Council finds that the amendment of the Lubbock East Neighborhood Empowerment Zone boundary will promote an increase in economic development in the zone; is for the public purpose of increasing the public health, safety, and welfare of the persons in the municipality; and, satisfies the requirements of Section 312.202, Tax Code.
