HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2006-R0442 - Resolution For Annexation Ordinance For Consideration - 09_13_2006Resolution No. 2006-RO442 September 13, 2006 Item No. 6.4 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock determined it to be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock to annex an area of approximately 210 acres generally located west of Indiana Avenue to the half section line and between 114ch Street and FM 1585, Lubbock County, which area is adjacent to the present boundaries of the City of Lubbock; and WHEREAS, annexation of said area will promote orderly growth of the City of Lubbock; and WHEREAS, said area contains fewer than 100 separate tracts of land on which one or more residential dwellings are located on each tract, which exempts the said area from the necessity to be included in a City of Lubbock annexation plan pursuant to Sec. 43.052(h)(1) of the Local Government Code; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Planning Department is hereby directed to prepare a service plan as required by Sec. 43.065 of the Local Government Code for the area described on the map attached hereto as Exhibit A. SECTION 2. THAT the City Planning Department and the City Attorney are hereby directed to take all necessary actions to prepare an annexation Ordinance for consideration by the City Council to annex the property described in Exhibit B hereto into the City of Lubbock pursuant to the Subchapter C-1 procedure of Chapter 43 of the Local Government Code.
