HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 091472J - Lease Agreement - FAA - Air Traffic Control Tower At Regional Airport - 09_14_1972-�, KJ:kr �9 /4 !G 6,'\4� RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Lease Agreement in favor of the FEDERAL AVIATION AUTHORITY for Air Traffic Control tower space at Lubbock Regional Airport, attached herewith which shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon the minutes of this Council shall constitute and be a part of this Resolution as if fully copied herein in detail. Box 20297 Dallas, Texas 75220 General Description of Work Included in Contract: Construct approximately, 220,000 square yards of rigid pavement on new and reconstructed taxiways, con- struct service road and driveways, install medium intensity taxiway lighting, install high intensity lighting on NIS Runway, construct drainage structures, and other related items of work. None WHEREAS, it is desirable to make changes in the materials used in the Cement -Treated Subgrade and the Soil -Cement Subbase Course to be constructed under this project: THIS AGREEMENT WITNESSETH: In consideration of the mutual advantage gained, the Owner and the Contractor agree to the following changes: 1. Modify the specifications set forth in Section 3 of the Contract Documents for Cement -Treated Subgrade, FAA Item P-155 (Modified), to permit lime treatment of this subgrade. Lime -Treated Subgrade shall be constructed in accordance with ITEM P-155 LIME -TREATED SUBGRADE of the "Standard Specifications for Construction of Airports", published by the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, Washington, D.C., dated May 1968,,with the following modifications: (a) Hydrated lime as specified in paragraph 155-2.1 shall be used for treatment. (b) Lime shall be applied at a rate to be determined by the Engineer. (c) The entire thickness of the treated subgrade shall be compacted to a density of at least 95% of maximum density at optimum moisture, as determined by compaction control tests in Item T-611, given in the Appendix of the Contract Documents. CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 Page 1 of .3 There shall be no change in the contract unit prices for the items of work affected by this substitution of lime for cement. The contract unit price per barrel for cement used in the subgrade s shall aptly to an equal weight of lime. 2. Modify the specifications set forth in Section 4 of the Contract Documents for Soil -Cement Subbase Course, FAA Item P-301, to allow • the Contractor to obtain the soil for the subbase from areas off the airport site instead of from cut or borrow areas on the airport. Paragraph 4-2.3 Soil, of the Contract Documents shall be revised , to read as follows: "4-2.3 Soil The soil shall consist of an approved select soil. The soil shall be free of roots, sod, weeds, and shall not contain gravel or stone retained on a 2-inch sieve or'more than 45% retained on a No. 4 sieve, as determined by AASHO T 27. Soil used in soil -cement subbase shall be obtained from cut or borrow areas on the airport, or from other approved sources." The soil -cement mixture shall meet the requirements specified in Paragraph 4-3 of the Contract Documents. Payment for soil used in soil -cement shall be as specified in Section 4 of the Contract Documents. There shall be no change in the contract unit prices for items of work affected by this revision. The aforementioned changes, and work affected thereby, are subject to all contract stipulations and covenants. The Owner and the Contractor agree that there will not be an adjustment to the time allowed for completion of the project for the above -listed changes.
