WHEREAS, it appears that the general election held in the City of Lubbock on
April 21, 1970 that: no candidate for the office of Councilman Number 3 received
a+majority of the voters cast for said office in said election; and.
WHEREAS, it is !provided by the Charter of the City of Lubbock that the City
Council shan,irnmediately, upon declaring the official results of the regular
election, issue a cal] for a run-off election for the place to which no one was
ejected, NPW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT pursuant to the Charter provision of the City of Lubbock that a special
election shall be and is hereby ordered to be held on the fourth Tuesday following
April 21, 1970, the same being May 19, 1970, for the purpose of electing
Councilm'ah�Number 3 for the City of Lubbock, and further ordering that the names
'as shown �-elow be placed on the ballot in said special election by virtue of their
bing heretofore certified as having required the highest number of votes cast for
tt 'Place,, dicated at the regular election held. in the City of Lubbock April 21,197(
