WHEREAS, the City Commission has heretofore passed Ordinance No. 1311
en first reading on the llth day of December, 1952, and it is anticipated that
such Ordinance will pass second reading on the 8th day of January, 1953, therein
abandoning and closing part of an alley between Dartsmouth on the North and
Cornell on the South between Gary and Hartford Streets in the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the owner of such property abandoned and closed by such
Ordinance has requested that a Quitclaim Deed be executed to him on all that pro-
perty therein abandoned and closed; and,
WHEREAS, such property, being an alley running North and South through
Block Four (4), T. J. Wages Subdivision, was abandoned and closed for the reason
that an East and West alley has been opened through such Block Four (4), T. J.
Wages Subdivision, and such new ,alley, affords complete ingress, egress and regress
to all property owners in such Block and that no utility facilities exist in that
portion of the alley therein closed; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMNHSSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT, the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a
Quitclaim Deed to T. J. Wages on all that property abandoned and closed by Ordi-
nance No. 1311, being that part of the alley in Block Four (4), T. J. Wages Sub-:.
division running North and South between Dartsmouth on the North and Cornell on
the South between Gary and Hartford Streets, being further described as fclle-ws,,
to-wit:
BEGINNING at the Northwest Corner of Lot One (1), Block Four
(4), T. J. Wages Subdivision to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas;
THENCE West a distance of 15.0 feet to a point;
THENCE South a distance of 137.5 feet to a point;
THENCE East a distance of 15.0 feet to a point;
THENCE North a distance of 137.5 feet to POINT OF BEGINNING.
BEGINNING at the Southwest Corner of Lot Eight (8), Block
Four (4), T. J. Wages Subdivision to the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West a distance of 15.0 feet to a point;
THENCE North a distance of 137.5 feet to a point;
THENCE East a distance of 15.0 feet to a point;
THENCE South a distance of 137.5 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
On motion of Commissioner Davis , seconded by
Commissioner Morris the foregoing Res-alttion was g g passed on
first reading this 8th day of Ja uary , 1953, by the following
