RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A COOPERATION AGREEMENT
BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK AND THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK CONCERNING THE MEMORIAL CENTER COMPLEX URBAN RENEWAL
PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock and the Urban Renewal Agency have certain
responsibilities In executing the Memorial Center Complex Project, No. Tex.
R -138(C), and
WHEREAS, said responsibilities have been specifically enumerated and
set forth in a cooperation Agreement which is required to be executed prior
to the Federal Government offering a Loan and Grant Contract In connection
with said project;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,
THAT:
The Mayor be and is hereby authorized to execute said Cooperation
Agreement, attached hereto and made a part hereof, by and between the City of
Lubbock and the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Lubbock, said execution
to be attested by the City Secretary -Treasurer.

Dear Mr. King:
In formal session July 10, the City Council approved
your undertaking the steps necessary to initiate
a change order to relocate the central processing
unit of the HVACM&C system from the central plant to
the basement of the exhibit hall in the Lubbock Me-
morial Civic Center.
Once you have executed these preliminary steps, V.
will arrange for you to appear before the City
Council to obtain their permission to issue the sub-
ject change order.

Persuant to the City Council meeting with you today, this is to advise
you of their instructions for revising the schematic design of the
Memorial Civic Center. This letter should be substituted for our
letter of instructions to you dated October 13, 1971.
Following are the priorities you should follow in recommending cuts
or revisions whereby the total project cost will not exceed the funds
available, (number l being last to cut and number 6 being first to cut.)
1. Theatre for the perf6rming arts containing up to 1,500 seats, and
Investigation of the feasibility of utilizing movable partitions
which could reduce the size of the theatre down to approximately
600 seats.
2. Banquet hall with 1,500 seats or that number deemed necessary
3. Capability of a minimum of 5,000 seats in the exhibit hall, the
optimum being approximately 5,600 seats.
4. Early learning center
5. Youth center

6. 750 -seat meeting room in the meeting room complex
We are interested in meeting with you as soon as the schematic revisions
are completed so that you may begin design development as soon as possible.

be changed from the original wattage indicated to the wattages in-
dicated. Gattery packs shall be 11olophane H.E.L.P. series as speci-
fied and as indicated on the drawings:

One additional Type "Ef1" lighting fixture shall be added to Men E 126
in the Exhibit Hall and the "EM" fixture in Janitor E134 in the Exhibit
Hall shall be moved to Women E 133. These fixtures shall be wired to
battery pack "EB" and shall be connected for normal "OFF" operation.
