RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND DIRECTING ADVERTISE-
MENT FOR BIDS,
WHEREAS, the City Council on Jule- 25, 1970, passed a resolution providin
for the improvements of a portion of streets, highways, avenues and/or alleys in
the City of Lubbock, Texas,, and along the boundaries of said city, to be done unde
General Work Order No, 3008, and directing preparation of plans and specifications
covering the streets, highways, avenues and/or alleys as named in said resolution,,
and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared and filed with the City plans
and specifications for such improvements, and same have been examined;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LUBBOCK, TEXAS:
THAT, the plans and specifications submitted by the City Engineer
covering improvements contemplated by said resolution, BE, and the same are
hereby approved and the Mayor and City Secretary are hereby authorized and
directed to advertise for bids in accordance with the "Notice to Bidders"
made a part of said specifications covering the quantities of materials needed
for said paving program as therein set out.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
G.W.O. 3008
STREET PAVING BETWEEN 55TH STREET AND
58TH STREET, AND BETWEEN WAYNE AVENUE AND UTICA AVENUE
Sealed proposals addressed to the City Council of Lubbock, Texas,'
will be received at the office of the Purchasing Agent until 9:00 A.M.
August 20, 1970, for the construction of approximately 29,810.00 S.Y. of
asphalt paving, 14,060.00 L.F. of curb and gutter, 500.00 S.Y. of
concrete flat work and related construction for the City of Lubbock,
Texas. The above described work will be paid in cash. The City Council
will consider the bids on August 27, 1970, at the City Hall, subject to
the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities. Bids may
not be withdrawn after they are submitted. Bidders are'required to
submit a cashier's or certified check or bid bond in the amount of 5%
of the total bid and the successful bidder shall provide bond in the full
amount of the contract price executed by a surety company authorized to do
business in Texas.
Plans and specifications are available in the office of the City
Engineer, Lubbock, Texas.
