WHEREAS, Dub Rogers, prior to becoming Mayor, served the City of -Lubbock through active service and participation in affairs of city government, gm, the Chamber of Commerce, his church and educational, social and community ' projects throughout the City; and a WHEREAS, Dub Rogers has given of his time and energy in an unselfish manner and devoted a great portion of his adult life to active, not passive, work for the many projects he freely worked for and believed in for a better Lubbock as exemplified by his tireless efforts in the promotion of the passage of the 1970 Airport Bond Election; and r WHEREAS, as Dub Rogers relinquishes the office of Mayor of the City of • Lubbock, we know that it is not to retire from active service to his community o but to turn his boundless energy to other tasks and toward other goals; and --�— WHEREAS, we the City Council, knowing we cannot express in a few words our full appreciation for the outstanding service of Dub Rogers, would like to show this token of our thanks to this man in a fashion which he himself, as Mayor, • used to express the official gratitude of the City Council for dedicated service; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITYOF LUBBOCK: ' THAT officially, individually, and on behalf of the citizens of the City of Lubbock, we say to you, W.
