SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

The City Council of the City of Lubbock,Texas met in special session on the 28th of March,2017,
at Fire Station#19,5805 98th Street,Lubbock,Texas at 2:30 p.m.

Present: Mayor Daniel M. Pope; Mayor Pro Tem Latrelle Joy; Council Member Karen
Gibson; Council Member Jeff Griffith; Council Member Steve Massengale; City
Manager W. Jarrett Atkinson; City Secretary Rebecca Garza; City Attorney Chad
Weaver
Absent: Council Member Juan A. Chadis; Council Member Shelia Patterson Harris
Note: City Council addressed agenda items in the following order:
1. Regular Agenda
1. 1. Presentation by Lubbock Apartment Association of donation proceeds of the 2017 State of the City
Address. The Mayor has designated Lubbock Fire Rescue and Lubbock Police Department
Benevolent Funds as the recipient of this year's proceeds.No action will be taken by the Lubbock
City Council.
Mayor Dan Pope welcomed all in attendance and gave opening remarks, introductions, and
recognitions.
Carol Mize, Vice President of the Lubbock Apartment Association, gave remarks.
Ms. Mize and Mayor Pope introduced Greg Stevens, Chief of Police,and Lance Phelps, Fire
Chief,and presented them with a$14,000 check to the Lubbock Fire Rescue and Lubbock Police
Department Benevolent Funds.
Chief Stevens and Chief Phelps gave comments and thanked the Mayor and Lubbock Apartment
Association for their donation.
Mayor Pope gave closing remarks.

There being no further business to come before Council,the meeting was adjourned.
