The City Council of the City of Lubbock,Texas met in special session on the 17th of April,2017,at
Parkway Neighborhood Center,405 N. Martin Luther King Boulevard,Lubbock,Texas at 4:00 p.m.

Present: Mayor Pro Tem Latrelle Joy; Council Member Juan A. Chadis; Council Member
Karen Gibson; Council Member Steve Massengale; Council Member Shelia
Patterson Harris; City Manager W. Jarrett Atkinson; City Secretary Rebecca Garza;
City Attorney Chad Weaver
Absent: Mayor Daniel M. Pope; Council Member Jeff Griffith
Note: The City Council attended and participated in the Parkway Neighborhood Center Ribbon
Cutting Ceremony. Agenda items were addressed in the following order:

Karen Murfee, Director of Community Development, gave welcoming remarks and thanked all
who were in attendance.

Greetings and Remarks were given by the following people:

Councilwoman Shelia Patterson Harris
Dela Esqueda, Executive Director of Guadalupe Parkway Neighborhood Centers, Inc.
Brad Croom, President of Guadalupe Parkway Neighborhood Centers, Inc.
Mike Laughlin, Chairman of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors
1.3. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Dela Esqueda and members of the Parkway Neighborhood Center iniated the ribbon cutting.
