The City Council of the City of Lubbock,Texas met in special session on the 15th of November,
2016,at the Overton Hotel& Conference Center,2322 Mac Davis Lane,Sunset Ballroom,
Lubbock,Texas at 11:30 a.m.

Present: Mayor Daniel M. Pope; Mayor Pro Tem Latrelle Joy; Council Member Juan A.
Chadis; Council Member Karen Gibson; Council Member Jeff Griffith; Council
Member Steve Massengale; Council Member Shelia Patterson Harris; City Secretary
Rebecca Garza; City Attorney Chad Weaver
Absent: City Manager James Loomis
Note. City Council addressed agenda items in the following order:

1. 1. Keynote Speaker Marci Rossell, Former CNBC Chief Economist and Co-Host of SQUAWK. BOX,
will speak about the Lubbock Economic Forecast for 2016-2017.No action will be taken by the
City Council.
Invocation
Curtis Parrish, Leader-Broadway Church of Christ, led the invocation.
Welcome
Tim Collins, Chairman of the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance(LEDA)and Market
Lubbock,Inc. Board of Directors,gave welcome remarks.
State of Business
John Osborne,President and CEO of Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA)and
Market Lubbock, Inc.,presented an economic review of FY 2015-2016.

There being no further business to come before Council, the meeting was adjourned.
The November 15, 2016 Special City Council Meeting minutes were approved by the City COLIncil on
