SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
July 7, 2016

The City Council of the City of Lubbock,Texas met in special session on the 7th of July,2016,at
YWCA Sun 'n Fun,6204 Elgin Avenue,Lubbock,Texas at 5:30 p.m.
6:00 P.M. CITY COUNCIL CONVENED

Present: Council Member Juan A. Chadis; Council Member Jeff Griffith; Council Member
Latrelle Joy; Council Member Steve Massengale; Council Member Shelia Patterson
Harris; City Manager James Loomis; City Secretary Rebecca Garza; City Attorney
Chad Weaver
Absent: Mayor Daniel M. Pope; Council Member Karen Gibson

This was a meeting of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce.A quorum of Council Members
attended and participated in a reception in which the Chamber considered the following topics as
shown below.
Note: The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce addressed agenda items in the fallowing order:

1. 1. Remarks by City Council members concerning the operations,programs, budget, revenues,
facilities,and priorities of the City of Lubbock including,but not limited to,any plans, proposals,or
amendments to the operations, programs, budget, revenues,facilities, and priorities of the City of
Lubbock. As this reception is hosted by a third party, the City of Lubbock does not control the
topics that may be discussed,therefore, any discussion may be on a broad range of topics involving
the City of Lubbock. No action or vote will be taken by the Lubbock City Council.
Beth Bridges, Chairwoman of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors,gave
welcome remarks and thanked the sponsors.
The outgoing City Council members, Victor Hernandez, District 1 and Floyd Price, District 2,were
recognized and thanked for their service to the City of Lubbock. Floyd Price gave remarks and
thanked the citizens and City of Lubbock for the opportunity.
The incoming City Council members were recognized:
Shelia Patterson Harris, City Council District 2 and Juan A. Chadis, City Council District
1, both gave remarks.

Glenda Mathis, Executive Director ofthe YWCA, gave information Oil Sun 'n Fun and the YWCA.
Beth Bridges gave closing remarks and thanked those in attendance.
6:50 P.M. CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED
There being no further business to come before Council, the meeting was adjourned.
The July 7, 2016 Special City Council Meeting minutes were approved by the City Council on
