The City Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas met in special session on the 14th of August, 2026, on Broadway
Street and Avenue M, Lubbock, Texas at 11:00 a.m.
11:03 A.M. CITY COUNCIL CONVENED
Broadway Street and Avenue M, Lubbock, Texas
Present: Mayor Mark W. McBrayer; Mayor Pro Tem Dr. Jennifer Wilson; Council Member Tim Collins;
Council Member Christy Martinez-Garcia; Council Member Gordon Harris; City Manager W. Jarrett
Atkinson; City Secretary Courtney Paz; City Attorney Matt Wade
Absent: Council Member David Bruegel; Council Member Tim Green
Mayor Mark W. McBrayer welcomed those in attendance and gave opening remarks.
Council Member Christy Martinez-Garcia; Dan Williams, chair of Central Business District Tax Increment Financing
Zone; and Heather Keister, chair of 2024 Citizens Advisory Committee, gave remarks.
Mayor Pro Tem Dr. Jennifer Wilson gave closing remarks.
City Council participated in a groundbreaking for the Broadway Street Project.
11:23 P.M. CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED
There being no further business to come before Council, Mayor McBrayer adjourned the meeting.
The August 14, 2026 Special City Council Meeting minutes were approved by the City Council on the 8th day of
September, 2026.
