SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

The City Council of the City of Lubbock,Texas met in special session on the 25th of September,
2019, at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, 1501 Mac Davis Lane, Terrace Suite, Lubbock, Texas
at 6:00 p.m.

Present: Mayor Daniel M. Pope; Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Griffith; Council Member Randy
Christian; Council Member Latrelle Joy; Council Member Steve Massengale;
Council Member Shelia Patterson Harris; City Manager W. Jarrett Atkinson; City
Secretary Rebecca Garza; City Attorney Chad Weaver
Absent: Council Member Juan A. Chadis
Xote: Agenda items were addressed in the fallowing order.-

1. 1. Remarks or discussion by City Council members at a reception for the Police Chief finalists to
meet and greet the public and City Council. No action or vote will be taken by the Lubbock City
Council.
Jarrett Atkinson, city manager, gave comments and introduced the three Police Chief finalists (Neal
Barron, Floyd Mitchell, and Richard Bash). All in attendance were encouraged to meet and visit
with each of the candidates.
7:13 P.M. CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED
There being no further business to come before Council, the meeting was adjourned.
The September 25, 2019 Special City Council Meeting minutes were approved by the City Council on
the 22nd day of October, 2019.
