SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

The City Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas met in special session on the 25th of April, 2024, at the
Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, 1501 Mac Davis Lane, Terrace Suite, Lubbock, Texas at 5:00 p.m.
5:47 P.M. CITY COUNCIL CONVENED

Present: Mayor Pro Tem Shelia Patterson Harris; Council Member Latrelie Joy; Council Member Christy
Martinez-Garcia; Council Member Steve Massengale; Council Member Mark W. McBrayer;
City Manager W. Jarrett Atkinson; City Secretary Courtney Paz; Interim City Attorney Mitchell
Satterwhite
Absent: Mayor Tray Payne; Council Member Dr. Jennifer Wilson
Note: Ciry Council addressed agenda items in the following order:

1. REGULAR SESSION
1. 1. Remarks or discussion by City Council members at a reception for the Police Chief finalists to meet
and greet the public and City Council. No action or vote will be taken by the Lubbock City Council.
All in attendance were encouraged to meet and visit with each of the Lubbock Police Chief finalists
(Glen Fowler, Seth Herman, Kenneth Myers, and Michael Smathers).
6:33 P.M. CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED
There being no further business to come before Council, the meeting was adjourned.
The Apri125, 2024 Special City Council Meeting minutes were approved by the City Council on the 28th day
of May, 2024.
