"In view of the fact there appears to be a communication gap between the elected representatives
of the citizens of Lubbock and the Tax Assessor's Office, and there unquestionably is a great
amount of interest by every citizen of Lubbock in our city tax structure, and it is the desire of
this councilman that a free flow and exchange of ideas between citizens of Lubbock and their tax
department should be made possible, it is my humble intentiod, at the next regular council meetin
to present to my colleagues for their consideration, a resolution creating a Tax Advisory Board,
to assist and advise the Tax Assessor -Collector in determining proper and correct policies concer
ing tax matters of the City of Lubbock. This board should not be confused with the Tax Board of
Equalization, and should have no connection with that board."
