PROPOSED ZONE TEXT AMENDMENT: Section 10 - "C-2" and 10-2-3
Section 11 - "C-3" and 11-2-3
PROPOSED WORDING
"Non Profit Training Center, with retail sales as an incidental use. Sale of furniture and/or
large appliances prohibited; outside storage or display of merchandise prohibited."
This is'permanent" zoning of Goodwill Industries as a "retail store and training center"
based on discarded merchandise and United Fund subsidized operated expense in competition on
a "non-profit" basis of a designated first class retail shopping center and constitutes a
"spot" zoning and a specialized one at that.
We the following in the 34th STREET SHOPPING VILLAGE DO NOT favor a zone change to allow a
training center or place of sale of discarded merchandise under non-competitive conditions
substandard to the class of retail shopping center now existing or improved. We appreciate
the work and aims of the people serving the Goodwill Industries.
