P. 0. Box 2000
Lubbock, Texas 79408
Dear Mr. Senter:
November 8, 1967
Due to our earlier work on the gross receipts tax statute and franchis, I am sending you the
acceptances required by Section 6 of Ordinance No. 5320, and Section 14 of Ordinance No. 5215.
You will recall that we agreed in discussions with the Commission to pay the 3% tax on bills
at the new rate. The new general service rate becomes effective for meter reading periods begin-
ning on and after November 15, 1967. Consequently, no revenue from regular billings could- be
received until after December 15. It is our intention to pay the gross receipts taxes at 3% on
all billings for meter reading periods beginning,on and after November 15 and gross receipts
taxes on billings for meter reading periods beginning prior to November 15, will be paid as they
would have been prior to the enactment of Ordinance No. 5320. It is with this understanding that
we accept Ordinance No. 5320.
When you have reviewed them, please forward the acceptance to Mrs. Lowe.
Sincerely yours;
PIONEER NATURAL GAS COMPANY
