In January of this year we held a similar sale and received permission to put the tent up through Mayor Strong by way of the City Council; of course this was an emergency thing since we did not realize a permit was required until the last moment. Again it appears that we have waited too long since the Council met on Tuesday, the 7th. It would be greatly appreciated if you could contact the Council for special permission at this time for us to set up our tent on Friday, July loth for the sale beginning the 13th. We will, of course, comply with all requirements of Mr. Black, the City Fire Marshall. He will be called upon to inspect the premises before customers are allowed to enter the tent. Your assistance in this matter will be truly appreciated. JEC/es Sincerely, /s/ J. E.
