Lubbock,Texas.
Dear Sir,
During the month of July, when the retail business is in the doldrums, we of the Downtown
Merchants' Association would like to experiment with a one day "Sidewalk Bazaar , on or
about July 25.
We respectfully request permission from the honorable City Commission to place racks and or
tables to display merchandise on the sidewalks in front of member stores for this one day.
Such sidewalk displays would be so arranged as not to impede ordinary pedestrian traffic
on the sidewalk or create any hazard. We agree to hold the city blameless of any claims
for damage.
If the promotion is successful, as it has been in many other cities, large and small,
throughout the nation, we will probably make this an annual event, and request the same
privilege in future years.
Yours respectfully,
