EMERGENCY CALLED MEETING
The City Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas, met at 9:30 pm.. in the regular meeting place
in the City Hall, the foljnwing members thereof being present, to -wit-,
Mayor J. H. Granberry and Councilmen Rigsby, Hollingsworth, Baker and Turner, and City Attorney,
Fred 0. Seater, Jr.
Absent: City Manager W.R. Blackwell, Assistant City Manager Robert Wilson, and city secretary]
Treasurer Lavenia Lowe.
71-30-376-950 Motion was made by Council. Rigsby, seconded by Councilmen. Baker, motion carried, Ma -or Gras-
(1) berry and Councilmen Rigsby, Hollingsworth, Baker and Turner voting Yea, none voting Nay, that
the following Resoliation be passed.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, a state emergency has been declared by the Mayor of the City of Lubbock, Texas,
an September 9, 1971, and
WhWEAS, it has been determined by the City Council that a curfew should be imposed for
the entire City of Lubbock effective this date and hour.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,
THAT a curfew :is hereby established for the entire City of Lubbock as of 10-00 P.M. O'clock,
September 9, 1.971, until 6:30 A.M. o'clock September 10, 1971.
THAT this curfew shall apply to all persons within the City of Lubbock except those able
to furnish satisfactory proof to police officers and other enforcement officers that such
persona was enroute to his home or place of business;
All law enforcement officers are hereby directed to arrest any person upon the streets of
the City of Lubbock who fails to show satisfactory proof as required above.
Passed in emergency called session this 9th day of September 1971.
