November 30, 1950
The City Commission of the Qity of Lubbock, Texas, met at 9 A.M. in Recessed regular
session, recessed from regular meeting of November 22, 1950, at the regular meeting
place in the City Hall, the following members thereof being present, to wits
Mayor Clarence K. Whiteside, Commissioners Larry Morris, E. K. Hufstedler, L. E. Davis,
Lucian Thomas, City Attorney Vaughn E. Wilson, City Secretary Lavenia Lowe.
Absent: City Manager Steve Matthews.
Hearing having been held November 22, 1950, "Notice of Proposed Amendments to Zoning
Ordinance" being of record at Page 504-5, Minute Book 9, and at said meeting the City
Commission having deferred taking any action on zone change ,#6,"being Change Lots 31,
32, 33, Block 1, Perkins Addition, from a "G" district to a "J" District, and Lots 34,
35, 36, and 13, Block 1, Perkins Addition, from a "CO district to a "J" district;
action having been deferred because of protest to the zone change having been presented
by Mrs. A. G. Hopkins and Mrs. Richard Byrd, who appeared before the City Commission on
this date voicing protest and also filing petition requesting that the zone not be
changed.
On This date, November 30, 1950, further consideration was given to Item No. 6 as set
out in the "Notice" referred to above, and motion was made by Commissioner Morris,
seconded by Commissioner Davis, that Ordinance No. 1041 be passed on first reading.
This motion carried by the following vote: Mayor Whiteside, Commissioners Hufstedler,
Davis and Thomas voting YEA.
None voting NAY.
ORDINANCE NO. 1041
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 661 AND THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF
THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES: (6) CHANGE LOTS 31, 32, 33,
BLOCK 1, PERKINS ADDITION, FROM A "G" DISTRICT TO A "J" DISTRICT, AND LOTS 34, 35, 36,
AND 13, BLOCK 1, PERKINS ADDITION, FROM A "C" DISTRICT TO A "J" DISTRICT.
No further business coming up for consideration the City Commission
recessed to meet Dec. 5, 1950, at 1:30 � .M.
