April 20, 1949
RECESSED REGU;A.R MEETING.
The City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, met at 9:00 A.M. in
recessed regular session, recessed from regular meeting of April 14,
1949, at the regular meeting place in the City Hall, the following
members thereof being present, to -wit:
Mayor W. H. Rodgers, Commissioners W. B. Price, E. K. Hufstedler, Jr.,
Clarence K. Zh.iteside, John Spikes, City Attorney Vaughn E. Wilson,
City Manager Steve Matthews, City Secretary Lavenia Lowe.
Also present in the meeting were: Ed Co3:bTy, Airport Manager and A. B.
Davis, Manager Lubbock Chamber of Commerce.
The City Commission, having on March 28, 1549, of redbrd at Minute Book
8, Page 441, authorized the Mayor to execute Contract of Sale, Lease
agreement, payment and agreement to Escrow, between the City of Lubbock
and Oscar C. and Corinne Palmer, also warranty deed to approximately
10 acres of land at City►s Airport, also known as South Plains Army
Air Field, in connection with location of Palmer Manufacturing Company
plant at said Airport; The Commission having on this date, April 20, 1949,
Hidcusded this matter in detail, motion was made by Commissioner Hufstedler,
seconded by Commissioner Price, carried unanimously, to authorize the
Mayor, .9. H. Rodgerg, to execute Warranty Deed for the sale of the 10
acres of lanAentioned above, to Mr. Palmer. Proposed Warranty Deed
having been submitted to the Commission at this meeting.
No further business coming up for consideration, the City Commission
adjourned.
