September 7, 1948.
The City Commission of the city of Lubbock, Texas, met at 10 A.M.
in recessed regular session, recessed from regular meeting of August
26, 1948, at the regular meeting place in the dity Hall, the following
members thereof being present, to -wit:
1,4q--or W.H. Rodgers, Commissioners Clarence K. Whiteside, E.K. Hufstedler,
Jr., City Manager M.R. Smith, Jr. , City Secretary La venia Williams.
Absent: Commissioners W..B. Price and John Spikes.
Bids as follows were read on construction of Itinerant L.:,bor Camp building:

Motion by Uommissioner Hufstedler, seconded by Uommissioner Whiteside,
carried unanimously, to authorize acceptance of the bid of W.G. McMillan
for construction of this building, with the understanding that the roof
and siding to be corrigated iron, in accordance with the plans and
specificati ons.
Motion by Commissioner Whiteside, seconded by commissioner Hufstedler,
carried unanimously, to authorize showing of Kingling Bros. and Barnum
and Bailey Circus on Wednesday, September 29, 1948, at the Fair Grounds
in Lubbock. This in accordance with provisions of Ordinance No. 508.
No further business coming up for consideration, the Cit;
adjourned.
