Dec. 6, 1948.
The City Commission of the Uity of Lubbock, Texas met at 10:30 A.M.
in recessed regular session, recessed from Regular Meeting of Nov. 25,
19481 at the regular meeting place iA the City Hall, the following
members thereof being present, to -wit:
Mayor 'V.H. Rodgers, Commissioners W.B. Price, Clarence K. Whiteside,
City Manager M.R. Smith, Jr., City Secretary Lavenia Williams.
Absent: Commissioner E.K. Hufstedler and Commissioner John Spikes;
Motion was made by Commissioner Price,and seconded by Commissioner Vihite-
si de, carried unanimously, that the City Manager be instructed to draw up
proposed sub -division of Last 1/2 of Section 2, Block E-2, Lubboc'c County
Texas, and submit to Dr. Rump, owner, for his a-rro val , and make a pro-
posed sub -division of West 1/2 of the Northwest 1/4 of erection 1, Block
E-2 Lubbock. County, Texas, and submit to Mr. Brady, owner, for ap-roval.
Also to lay out proposed well locations and proposed reservoir and pump
station sites, on southeast one-fourth and the East one-half of Section
2, Block E-2, and the Northwest 1/4 of Section 1, Block E-2. This being
for the purpose of obtaining water rights on the above described property
to furnish the City well sites and reservoir locations and the water right
on the property, in exchange for the City making available one pressure
line across each tract of land, from which the owners may connect a water
distribution system; and from this distribution system the City would
make water taps and inst::.11 water meters and sell -ater to each individual
property owner.
;Motion by Uorumissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Whiteside, carridd
unanimously, that Mr. J. Roy McCoy, Consulting Geologist, be employed
by the City to furnish a log of each of the following oil wells that are
being drilled:
Tobe -Foster well,_ located on Carl roster tract of land Northeast of
Lubbock.
Anton, Texas well, located on G D Hufstedler Tract of land
Smyer, Texas well, located on Sec. 12 of R.M. Thompson Survey
of Ellwood Tract of land.
A fee of Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars per well being authorized to bj
raid to Mr. McCoy for this service. Complete log of the well to be
furnished together with a written report givinp,, comments on the various
sands encountered and the I,ossibility of obtaining a fresh water supply.
No further business coming up for consideration, the City Commission
