Aug. 12, 1947.
The City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, met at 2 :30 A.M.
in recessed regular session, recessed from ReEular Meeting of
July 24, 1947, at the regular meeting place in the City Hall, the
following members thereof being present, to -wit:
Mayor Pro-tem W.B. Price, Commissioners John Spikes and J. Ray Dickey,
City Attorney Vaughn E. Wilson, City "'anager Homer A. Hunter, amity
Secretary Lav en is Wi l l is rris .
Absent: Mayor C A Bestwick and Commissioner F.H. Childress.
Also present in the meeting wore Chas. A. Read, Durwood H . Bradley,
Phas. Adams, Sr., L.A. Manning, and Geo. Ili. Brewer.
The meeting was called for the purpose of discussion of release an-t
re-signing of new paving liens when loans are being secured on property
and upon motion by Commissioner 4)ike s, seconded by dommissioner Dickey,
the following resolution was unanimously passed:

is initiated b;, the pity Commission but before the paving is actually
completed, the U'ity "ommission will consider each case on its merits, and
l�;here the circumstances justify, the original assessment may be released
in the case of homesteads wherefthe existance of the assessment lien makes
it impossible to complete loan, arrangements, provided that the homestead
owner signs a paving contract li,-n before release of the paving assessment
lien.
Motion by CommissionerS pikes, seconded by Commissioner Dickey, carried
unanimously, that date to receive bids for Generating Equipment for new
engines, on which bids were advertised to be received August 28, 1947,
be extended to September 11, 1947. Notice to bidders, for this equipment,
being of record at page 440, Minute Book 7.
