January 10, 1950
The City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, met at 10 A.M. in recessed
regular session, recessed from regular-zi:eeting of December 28, 1950, at the
regular meeting place in the City Hall, the following members thereof being
present, to -wit:
Mayor Clarence K. Whiteside, Commissioners Harry Morris, Lucian Thomas, City
Attorney Vaughn E. Wilson, City Manager Steve Matthews, City Secretary Lavenia
Lowe.
Absent: Commissioners L. E. Davis and E. K. Hufstedler.

Dear Sir:
I herewith submit my resignation as Chief of Police of the City of Lubbock.
It is my desire that this resignation be accepted at your earliest conven-
ience.
In submitting this resignation, I must, in all fairness, tell you that I
have sincerely enjoyed the wonderful cooperation and support that has been
afforded me by the City Manager and all members of the City Commission.
This cooperation and support could not have been better anywhere and this
resi;�nation is not due to any friction or unpleasantness in my work and my
association with the officials of the City of Lubbock.
I regret to some extent that I could not
with you; however, if, at any time, I can
in any way, I hope you will call on me.

After consideration of the resignation of Mr. Dysart., as Chief of Police;
motion was made by Commissioner Morris, seconded by Commissioner Thomas,
that the resignation be accepted, with regret, effective February 1, 1951.
The motion carried b,r the following vote:
Mayor Whiteside and Commissioners Morris and Thomas voting YEA.
None votin NAY.
No further business comin,-; up for consideration, the Citv Commission
recessed to meet January 11, 1951, at 1:30 P.M.
Read and approved this 25th day of January , 1951.
