November 4, 1952
The City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, met in recessed regular session recessed
from regular meeting of October 23, 1952, at the regular meeting place in the City Hall, the
following members thereof, being present to -wit:
Mayor Murrell R. Tripp, Conzlissioners Harry Morris, Hurley Carpenter, L. E. Davis, Lucian
Thomas, City Manager Steve Matthews, City Attorney Vaughn E. Wilson, and Secretary -Treasurer
Lavenia Lowe.
Absent: None
52-11-170-328 Motion by Commissioner Morris, seconded by Comrissioner Davis, motion carried, Mayor Tripp
and Commissioners ,,:orris, Carpenter, Davis and Thomas voting Yea, none voting Nay, to author-
ize the City Engineer to em'rloy Sylvan Sanders, local Surveyor, to survey the land in
Bailey County Texas, on which the City purchased water rights as recorded at Page 594. thru
597 Minute Book 10. Mr. Sanders to be paid a consideration of Twenty and No/100 ($20.00)
Dollars per mile of survey. The total estimated cost being approximately One -Thousand -
Two -Hundred and No/100 ($1,200.) Dollars.

Motion by Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Thomas, motion carried, Mayor Tripp,
and'Commissioners Morris, Carpenter, Davis and Thomas voting Yea, none voting Nay, to author-
ize the City Manager to seek sealed proposal for handling the prospective bond issue. Said
pro-osal to be received Friday, November 7, 1952 at 2:00 O'clock, P.M) in accordance with
the following:
The City of Lubbock, Texas, will receive proposals at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November
71 1952, from bond firms or any other interested party or parties, to handle any
and all proceedings incident to the authorization and issuance of various purpose
bonds as outlined in the attached schedule. Proposals shall be on a turn -key basis
and the City of Lubbock shall be obligated only to the payment of publication
and local election expenses.
