Scott Assistant City Engineer City of Lubbock Lubbock, Texas Dear Mr. Scott: This is in reply to your letter of August 28 regarding the right of way on Avenue "Qn Northeast in Lubbock. I have discussed this question with the members of this firm and one question that every- one has asked is just when the construction of this freeway scheduled. At the time we purchased this land in Lubbock several years ago the proposal was discussed and we paid a premium price for the land in anticipation of this freeway. At that time we did not have the opportunity to see any drawings such as -you sent me with your letter of August 28. Frankly we are a little disappointed when we received these drawings as it appears that our property will net be as accessible as it is today after the construction of the freeway. You will notice thattraffic coming from the norti will have some difficulty in getting to this property and any traffic coming from the east would have even more d<fficulty. According to the proposal that the Commissioner has outlined, we feel that we would not only be giving up some of our land but would be out the expense of the curb amounting to approximately $650.00 and in return would receive no material benefit. In view of these facts, we feel that our previous proposal of $3000 for this property is a reasonable amount. Yours very truly, SOUTHWEST FERTILIZER & CHDaCAL CO. /s/ W. G. Nelson W. G.
