Mr. Lynn Andrews
City Traffic Engineer
Lubbock, Texas
Dear Mr. Andrews:
September 2, 1954 through
The Hub City Kiwanis in cooperation with the Lubbock County T. . Association is again
sponsoring the T. B. Exray unit which will be in Lubbock fromptember 11, 1954. This
service is free to all persons wishing the service and several schools have indicated
their desire to use this service.
On behalf of the Hub City Kiwanis Club, it is requested that the parking meters along
the south side of the Courthouse be hooded during the time the exray unit is in operation.
I believe that there are eleven meters in this area and should afford ample parking for
the people desiring exrays.
This exray unit has operated in the old Courthouse for some three years and the results
have been gratifying, and we believe that if we can again advertise the free parking
service another great benefit can and will rendered the residents of this area.
Yours very truly,

ATTENTION: Mr. John L., Scott, Ass't City Engineer
Gentlemen:
Thank you for your letter of August 18 which made reference to Mr. J. B. Scheffel who
stated that he would move our building for $775.00, Please give me the address of J
Mr. Scheffel so that I might contact him direct regarding the moving of this building.
I also understand that there is a cement walk from the main building to this building-,,
in question which will have to be relaid after the building is moved.
For the land itself (approximately 5900 sq. ft. net) we would want a consideration of
$2000 above what the cost would run for moving the small building. Based on Oe
preliminary estimate you received from Mr. Scheffel, you could use the cost/Rproximately
$3000 in your meeting with the Commissioners on August 26.
As soon as we receive Mr. Scheffel's address, we will start negotiations immediately
for the moving of this building.
Yours very truly,
