The City 6ommission of the `'ity of Lubbock, Texas, met at 7:30 P.M.
in Recessed Regular Session, recessed from regular meeting of March 22,
1945, at the regular meeting place in the pity Hall, the following
members thereof being present, to -wit:
Mayor O.W. izibble, Commissioners Y.B. Frice, J. Ray Dickey, Hub Jones,
F.H. Childress, City Attorney Durwood Ii. Bradley, City ",Tanager IT.R. Smith, Jr
City Secretary Lavenia Williams.
Absent: None.
The matter of ar:propriating funds for the payment of the Gns Diesel Lngine
and Generating Unit on which contract was let to Nordberg Manufacturing
Company November 4, 1944, was discussed, and Commissioner Childress
irtroduc®d an ordinance identified by the following caption.

CONS IDERiiTTON STATED ?N SAID CONTRACT; PROVIDING THAT THE BUDGET FOR
THE FISCAL YE�It BEGINNING APRIL 1, 1945, SHALL CONTAIN A PROVISION FOR SUCH
PAYMENT; AND ORDAINING OTHER I,1.iTTERS RELATING T--; SAID COT\TReiCT AND THE
PAYMENT THEREOF.
Don Reeder, Chief of Police, Bill Mebray, Assistant Chief of Police and
Louis Kittrell, Traffic Captain, a_r.peared before the Commission and
presented for consideration certain recommendations in regard to the
following:
An eight (S) hour working schedule for men in the Police Department.
Parallel Parking on certain streets
Bus Loading; Zones at Bus St,'
tion and at other intersections
Changing the parking time on certain narking meters
No right and left turns at certain intersections
Traffic lights
Signs and loading zones
Traffic marking lines
All of the recommendations as submitted viere discussed by the Gommissi_on
with the idea of making further study in regard to these matters before
taking final action.
No further business coming up for consideration, the City C ommission
adjourned.
