Lubbock, Texas, November 4, 1944.
The `'ity Commission of the pity of Lubbock, 'Texas, met at 10=i.ra1. in
Recessed Rec=ular Session, recessed from regular I+neeting of act. 26, 1944,
at the regular meeting place in the 'ity Hall, the following members
thereof being present, to -wit:

he purpose of this meeting being to consider bids received -on. Novelftber 2,
944, for an 'Engirie and generating Unit for the �,ity's Electric Light and
over Plant, the following tabulation was submitted:

After due consideration of the bid submitted by Nordberg Manufacturing
Company of 'ilwaukee , Wisc., motion was made by commissioner Yrice,
seconded by `'ommissioner Ihildress, " carried unanimously, to accept the
bid of the Nordberg Manufacturing ompany in the amount of 4258,326.00
for the engine, generator, and auxiliaries, f.o.b. Lubbock, `texas,
in accordance with proposal submitted November N, 1944, and in accordance

manufactured by General Electric Company, and that the Ma.77or and City
Secretary be authorized to enter into a contract with the Nordberg 1"lanufac-
turing Company of Milwaukee, Iisc., on the above basis. (Contract on file
in office of the Uity Secretary).
Motion by Commissioner Trice, seconded by Commissioner "ickey, carried
unanimously, to authorize and instruct the lity idanager to file an
application with the War -'reduction Board for authority to purchase
3600 H.x. Gas h ngine 2500 KW Generating Unit and all other necessary
auxiliaries, equipment, and material, necessary for placing the engine
and generating unit into operation, including the necessary buildings for
housing the unit.
