The �'ity Commission of the City of Lubbock, 'texas, met at 1 O'clock
P.M. in Recessed Ref:- Session, Recessed from he-rul:�r IV eeing of
Sept. 10, 1942, at the Regular 'VIeeting Place in the `'ity Hall, the
following members thereof being present, to-�ATit :
I.Zayor C E Slaton, ''ommissiDners Hub Jones, J.O. Jones, ' .B. 'rice,
Garland Nevisom, Acting City I',Ianager IZ.R. Omith,Jr. , City 0:,cret--ry
Laven is Williams.
l.bsent : None.
Motion by Commissioner Hub Jones, seconded by.Commissioner Zrice,
carried unanimously, that M.R. omith,Jr., be arpointed City Manager
of the City of Lubbock, Texas, at a salary of p450.00 per month,
effective September 1, 1942.

c�:rried unanimously, W.B. 'rice was designated as Commissioner of
-ublic Utilities,being Place 1.
Motion by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commission;E.r Hub Jones,
carried unanimously, J.O. Jones was designated as Police and Fire
Commissioner, being Place 2.

carried unanimously, Hub Jones was designated as Commissioner of Streets
and Public rronerty, being Place 3.

carried una.nimou�l,y, Garland Newsom was designated as Commissioner of
Finance and Revenue, being Place 4.
Motion by Comrnissi-ner Price, seconded by Commissioner J.O. Jones,
ca�--ried unanimously, that all other City Departments, not specifically
set out herein, be unler the special charge of Mavor C.E. S laton .
No further business corning up for consideration, the City Commission
adjourned.
