The "ity Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, met at 11:30 A.M. in
Recessed Regular Session, Recessed from Regular Meeting of July 23, 19429
at the Regular Meeting Place in the City Hall, the following members there-
of being present, to Suit:
Mayor C.E. Slaton, Commissioners VI.B. Price, Garland Newsom, City Manager
W.H. Rodgers and Secretary Lavenia Williams. .
Absent: Commissioner Hub Jones.
Motion by Co-imissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Newsom, carried unani-
mously, to appoint Raleigh Martin to take place on Tax Equalization Board of
D.N. Leaverton, account of Mr. Leaverton not being able to serve.
Motion by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Newsom, carried
unanimously, to appoint Solon Lea as Cit� xecorder in the Police Department,
in place of B.P.. illsap, at salary of ip175.00 per month, effective August 1,
1942.
Motion by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Newsom, carried
unanimously, to raise salaries of radio operators in Police Department to
$135.00 per month, effective August 1, 1942.
No further business coming up for consideration, the City Commission
adjourned.
