Dear sir:
The City Commission has reviewed your request for a reduction in
Permit Fees, and in view of the facts, they think the Iity is more
than fair, and has instructed me tadvise you that the time limit fbr
paying your permit for 1942 is set for May 6th, 1942. All permits
not --aid by that date will be considered void, according to the terms
of the ordinance.
Some of you may not be conversant with all the City does in this
connection, therefore, we are enumerating some of the services the City
renders.
The City of Lubbock has expended some 45,000.00 Dollars for
Laboratory and Laboratory equipment for analyzing milk and/nilk
products for this area. Also expending around $5,000.00 Dollars
per year for inspection service required by Federal Milk Ordinance
and State Health Department, also adopted by the pity of Lubbock
for regulating the supply of milk, from a health standpoint. The
'-'ity of Lubbock, through its Health Department, furnishes all dairy-
men and their employees, health certificates, "free", in order that
they may comply with Federal and Otate Health laws.
The City does not wish to be arbitrary, but wishes to
cooperate in every way and hope the dairymen will feel the same way.
Thanking you, we are
Yours very truly,
